The next International Energy Agency on Ocean Energy Systems (IEA-OES) Executive Meeting will be held in Messina on the 15-16th of October

The Implementing Agreement on Ocean Energy Systems (IEA-OES) completed its first 5-year term (2001-2006), and during this period has been active in the Ocean Energy field with activities focusing on ocean wave and marine current energy.
A new strategic plan for the period 2007 – 2010 was adopted at the 10th meeting of the Executive Committee May 1-2, 2006. During the first 5-year term the IEA-OES group became positioned to identify barriers and opportunities in technology development, create opportunities for collaborative research, promote effective policies and influence harmonization. The new strategic plan proposed for the second 5-year term, reflects these benefits. The scope of the strategy for the coming term was broadened to include OTEC and salinity gradient technologies.
