The worldwide diffusion of the turbine patented Kobold goes on. Kobold turbine is an all Italian technology for the production of electricity from marine currents. Supported by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), the diffusion of the Kobold turbine is part of a number of cooperative programs for development of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE). In the hall "De Chirico" of the Farnesina building, the Kobold-China joint venture has been signed today, between Ponte di Archimede International SpA, the patent holder, represented by its President, Elio Matacena, and the Dai Shan County Gao Ting Shipyard, in the person of Professor Liang Zhang, Professor of Fluid Dynamics at the Harbin's University. Among the others, the General Director of UNIDO Kandeh Yumkella - visiting Italy, was present at the ceremony, where he also met Prime Minister Romano Prodi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Massimo D'Alema, and the Minister of Environment Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio - and, for the Cooperation to the Development of MAE, Minister Plen. Antonio Bernardini. The j.v. will be committed to researching and developing technologies for renewable energies in China and in its neighboring Countries. It will give great care to energy from marine currents generated thanks to the installation of the Kobold turbine, which consequently allow all the islands not reached by a power line to obtain an energy independence. The first aim of the joint venture will be of constructing, within a year, a turbine prototype in China. This will be the prelude of the realization of "energy farms" which will supply "clean and renewable" electricity to the Archipelagos of the Chinese People's Republic.
